A transparent method for comparing teams and weapon routes when public sources do not provide an official current ranking.

Yet Another Zombie Survivors tier list searches deserve a method before they deserve letters. Official material describes new survivors, synergy systems, items, and modes, while community lists often reflect a different patch or a single player’s unlock state. This page therefore ranks the questions a tier list must answer rather than claiming an official S-through-D table does not exist.
How tiers are decided
Compare a team or weapon by the mode, version, permanent progression, safety, ordinary-wave control, boss damage, and upgrade reliability. A high ceiling is not enough if the route fails whenever one key choice does not appear. Write the conditions beside every placement so another player can tell whether it applies to their own run.
Build role lists before letter lists
Start with practical role labels such as coverage, focused damage, control, safety, and support. Then use a tier only for a clearly named environment, such as a new account first-clear attempt or a particular endurance mode. This produces advice a reader can test instead of a decontextualized character portrait.
Why older lists can be wrong
The 1.0 release added the Ranger, synergy-related systems, items, and modes, so an older list may not include the same choices or conditions. Official announcements and a dated client version should trigger a review after balance changes. Preserve an old list as history rather than silently applying it to a new patch.
A better best-team question
A useful question names a goal: safer beginner run, boss damage, control, or a Ranger-support experiment. The builds page gives a controlled testing record for those goals, while characters keeps roster information separate from a verdict. A team video can inspire a test but cannot prove it is best in every mode.
